My journey to founding Innovative Legacy Publishing House (ILPH) began with a painful lesson. As a lifelong creative, my artistic path made an unexpected turn when discovered that I was barred from the intellectual property ownership of my own book. This meant the financial and creative opportunities that came with the book’s success were stripped away, leaving me devastated, but also serving as an unexpected catalysis for this publishing house. That day, I realized that an artist’s true legacy lies in ownership, not just creation.
Therefore, I designed ILPH to be more than a publishing house; it is a movement to shift power back to creators. To further this mission and ensure our creators are fully protected, I am currently working towards completing my Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, specializing in Intellectual Property Law which will bolster my efforts serve as an advocate for creatives.
Though ILPH is currently focused on authors, my vision is to champion creators across all forms of media, from authors and lyricists to script writers and game developers. Above all, at Innovative Legacy Publishing House, all creatives have the legal and professional backing to own and share their legacy how they see fit. In closing, I believe everyone has a story, and I am honored to serve as an advocate for creatives to use their stories to cultivate lifelong legacies.
